Day 1
Singapore Airport to Singapore City Hotel
Hotel Royal at Queens is strategically located in the heart of the city's dynamic business, cultural and entertainment hubs. Some of the major landmarks of the city that are located within walking distance include the Singapore Management University (SMU), Esplanade Theatres by the Bay, Suntec City Convention Hall, Marina Square, Raffles Shopping Centre, Raffles Hospital, Bugis Village, Orchard Road, Chinatown, and Little India.
Day 2
A Night Out in Chinatown
Singapore's Chinatown has come a long way since the early days when Chinese immigrants made this enclave their home. Filled with colourful shops and eateries, bustling with activity and set against a backdrop of rich heritage, Chinatown really comes alive in the evening. At a Chinese Medical Hall, learn how Traditional Chinese Medicine helps regulate yin and yang in the human body. Since ancient days, the Chinese have used herbs and practices like acupuncture, moxibustion, tai chi and tui na to stay healthy. After dinner (included) at a local Chinese restaurant, wander along the narrow lanes of the Night Market and test your bargaining skills with the street vendors. Take a trishaw ride through the alleyways of Chinatown down to Clarke Quay, then hop onto a bumboat for a cruise along the Singapore River. Admire beautifully-restored shop houses, modern skyscrapers which light up the night sky, colonial buildings, and Singapore's iconic Merlion statue.
Day 3
Peranakan Trail with Food Tasting
Join us on a colourful journey into the history, lifestyle and unique character of the Peranakan Babas (the men) and Nonyas (the women)...
A walk through a Spice Garden - the original site of the first Botanic Gardens will uncover the intricacies of spices and herbs that go into Peranakan cooking.
A splendid display of Peranakan costume, embroidery, beadwork, jewelry, porcelain, furniture, craftwork will provide a glimpse into the fascinating culture of the Nonyas and Babas.
A visit to the bustling enclaves of Katong & Joo Chiat showcases the rich and baroque Peranakan architecture. See rows of colourful traditional shophouses that dates back to 1920s and 1930s.
A sampling of Nonya delicacies completes the tour.
